Thoughts of a dead man
Poems from a dark place
A small rented room a ceiling fan spins cooling the warm air a bed table and chair . The noise from outside tells of the hustle and bustle of a south east asian early evening as the sun goes down on another day . The only other sound is the slow rythmic taping of laptop keys , puntuated by long periods of silence as a man seeks inspiration.
Absentindly he sits looking out the window one short flight of stairs up level with the top of a banana tree , the smells of street food and gasoline from the cars and motorbikes weaving recklessly as if in a video game . The silence of a blank laptop screen screaming with frustration at having to compete with the distractions a world away from a life he knew.
Running out of time or just the start.
Thoughts of a dead man is a collection of poetry form John Doe born of life experience mortality and wonder at what will become .
When all is lost and hope set free when all around me fails to be

Your spirit lies within
From Thoughts of a dead man
The window to my soul
The void
When oceans rage and hope seems lost
Your stage is set you see the beast Look in the eyes of what lies beneath
Your soul is yours and the Lords to keep
Defy the foe your heart devour
This will not be your final hour
By John Doe
The Candle
A flicker of light my last good fight
Like burning candles in the night
The soul that burns inside of me
I pray to thee Lord lead me home
Or am I alone in this fight
Like candles burning in the night
By John Doe
Fear
The highways path the crossroads gate
Inevitability of fate too late
Uneasy stare uncertainty into a bleak eternity
The rationale the reasoning the plea the plaintive colloquy
The voice that grips so deep inside
The pain regrets of chance gone by
